I know I’ve said it a few times now, but I honestly feel like I’m taking crazy pills.
(Which I’m not because I stopped taking them about eight months ago and I haven’t even been back to that doctor.)
Donald Trump is a terrible human being. And the rabid, foaming-at-the-mouth fans that are coming out in droves to vote for him just make me crazy.
No one that I know personally has come out in support of him, but I suspect that there are one or two just afraid to admit to me that he has their vote. And I’m sorry that they feel this way, because the whole point of America is that we’re supposed to be allowed to live freely according to our own consciences.
But, really, this man MUST be stopped.
Now, I’m speaking as a current member of the Republican party. So, this post is pretty much aimed at other Republicans (and those who live in Open Primary states), since I’m quite confident that most Democrats are not going to go anywhere NEAR voting for Trump in the General Election.
Here’s the thing that frustrates me the most about Trump. He talks A LOT. Like, he probably even talks in his sleep because he never shuts up. His favorite sound is that of his own voice. But the problem with how much he talks is that he never says anything productive.
Sure, he says things like, “I’m going to build a wall around the country,” or, “We’re going to keep all Muslims out of the US until they can sort out who to trust,” but he never says HOW he’s going to accomplish ANY of that. His speeches can be summed up in a few soundbites, and his campaign website is a collection of catchphrases. There is no substance to any of it.
This is dangerous.
He’s not tied to anything. When his “pithy” ideas don’t pan out, he would simply shrug his shoulders and move on because he never actually promised anything at all. When making your primary picks, PLEASE do NOT vote for #DonaldTrump. Click To Tweet
On top of that, he’s generally an embarrassment. He says horrible things and has basically insulted every category of people that aren’t himself. Here is just a smattering of some of the things he has said. All of these can be directly attributed to him:
I hear the Rickets family, who own the Chicago Cubs, are secretly spending $’s against me. They better be careful, they have a lot to hide!

Awesome. Now he’s threatening to blackmail people. That’s exactly what we want in the leader of the free world.
Boycott all Apple products until such time as Apple gives cellphone info to authorities regarding radical Islamic terrorist couple from Cal — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 19, 2016
Look. I want the FBI or Homeland Security or whatever agency is handling the San Bernardino investigation to have access to whatever they need to stop further terrorist activities. However, we can’t do that at the expense of everyone else’s privacy and liberty. This is a terrible precedent and I’m appalled that someone who wants to be our President, tasked with protecting our liberties, wants to give some of them away in the hope that it might lead to some small amount of information.
Jeb Bush just got contact lenses and got rid of the glasses. He wants to look cool, but it’s far too late. 1% in Nevada!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) February 17, 2016
Really? Making fun of someone for switching from glasses to contacts? That’s the best you’ve got?
So…if he plays nice you’re not going to challenge his right to run for President? But if he plays nice you’ll just let go of what would otherwise be totally against the Constitution?
(Cruz isn’t my favorite candidate either, but he IS eligible to run for President.)
“I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn’t lose any voters, okay? It’s, like, incredible.” –Donald Trump, speaking at a rally in Sioux Center, Iowa as the audience laughed, January 23, 2016
Yes. He actually said that. And there’s NO reason to think he doesn’t 100% believe it.
“Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?” –Donald Trump on Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina
When he can’t attack someone’s record or remarks, he attacks their looks. Especially women. He’s a disgusting pig.
“Saddam Hussein understood and he killed terrorists.” South Carolina press conference February 15, 2016
Ah, yes. Let’s all stand in support of that highly effective leader, Saddam Hussein.
None of this is made up, friends. Every single one of these statements can be attributed to him, either on video, or through his own personal Twitter account. He’s a terrible person and there is NO WAY that he should EVER be President of the United States.
I BEG YOU. As we go into Super Tuesday next week where a lot of delegates are up for grabs, PLEASE think with your brains. I know people think they like Trump because he “talks tough.” But you HAVE TO listen to what he’s actually saying. And what he’s actually saying should scare the hell out of you.
