I mentioned last week that I recently became a distributor of Young Living Essential Oils.
I fell in love with them and am working through the oils I received upon signing up, learning what each of them do. I continue to be impressed with each new oil that I try.
So I thought that for the next little while, I’m going to introduce a new oil each week so that you can learn about them and what they do. And if you’re interested in ordering anything, you are welcome to click on the Essential Oils link at the top of this page to go to my Young Living website.
This week’s essential oil is Thieves, because it is the one that got me started on this journey.
The name comes from a 15th century legend of four thieves who created a blend of aromatic herbs that they used to cover themselves while robbing the graves of plague victims. It is said that none of them got sick because of this concoction. And, for that reason, Thieves takes its name from them.
Made with clove, lemon, cinnamon bark, eucalyptus and rosemary, Thieves is used primarily as a deodorizer, disinfectant, and immunity booster. It can be used on the skin, in a diffuser (available from Young Living) or even used orally for helping keep you healthy.
When I started to feel a cold coming on, I added a couple of drops of Thieves to a glass of water and drank it. An hour later, my symptoms were gone. And I am totally the type of person who would think this is a bunch of hooey, but I’m telling you, this stuff works.
In fact, Thieves is such a good deodorizer that there is an entire line of products using it. Everything from household cleaners to toothpaste and dental floss. It’s pretty awesome stuff. If you’re dealing with a lot of illness around your house, I’d highly recommend giving it a try.
Here’s a link to a video that gives you even more details about the awesomeness of Thieves.
