Games were a huge part of my childhood. I mean, sure, there was plenty of television and movie watching to be had. But we played a LOT of games. Tag. Backyard baseball. And not to mention all the board games.
Life. Clue. Chutes and Ladders. Simon Says. Monopoly. Uno.
The list goes on and on.
Even now, I LOVE games. And here are my three all-time favorites:
3) CLUE. Marc and I used to play this for hours and hours when we were kids. And when we got the expanded Clue Master Detective? That was some serious excitement in my house. I am a big fan of mysteries. In particular, solving them. And the more people playing, the better, because then it was just that much more of a challenge.
2) ARKHAM HORROR. I recently discovered and started playing this with some friends. It’s kind of funny to choose a game I’ve only been playing for two months or so, compared with some I’ve loved for decades, but that’s how much I’ve taken to Arkham Horror. It involves a bit of roll play and strategery, but also relies on cooperation from the rest of the group and leads to a whole lot of laughs and fun. And, thankfully, I’ve never been devoured.
1) SCATTERGORIES. I am a girl that lives for words. It’s like this game was invented just for me. I haven’t played in forever, but I still find myself thinking up great words that I’ll totally use one of these days. I’m weird.
