Over the weekend I had the opportunity to put my Disneyland Annual Pass to good use. My brother called to see if I would like to join him and his family for the evening, and, of course, I was delighted. I met them at the French Market in New Orleans Square. It’s a restaurant I had never been to, but wow. I know everyone (myself included) complains about the overpriced food at Disneyland, but that’s when you’re paying 10 bucks for a burger and fries. At the French Market, for the same price as any average restaurant, you get good food and a ton of it. So we ate and chatted and laughed about Kristi’s traumatic run-in with falling bird poo. Matthew was too busy gawking at the big ships on the Rivers of America to eat much of anything. Eventually we decided to give the kid a break (he really was very well-behaved) and headed over to the Jungle Cruise. Matty actually sat on my lap the whole time. (I think he was too amazed at the elephants and monkeys to realize that his mom wasn’t holding him. ) From there we went to Fantasyland and rode the Carousel, Pinocchio, Dumbo (which I hadn’t done in about 25 years) and then It’s a Small World. Somewhere in there we also went to Alice in Wonderland. Matty was just adorable, because he’s at that age where everything is new and exciting. It’s too bad we can’t all be like that.
I took some pictures (my brother tried, but can’t seem to figure out how to work a non-digital camera…) and I’ll post them as soon as I finish the roll of film and get it developed. Probably a year or so from now!
